Jen Fisher, E-RYT 500, RCYT, YACEP™

Meet Jen.  Mom, teacher, dog lover, adventure seekerl, friend.   Jen grew up as a dancer and swimmer and was always active, spending lots of time outdoors, a child of the 70’s with freedom to roam her small Pennsylvania town and curfew at sundown.  She attended The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in hospitality management (which has come full circle in retreat planning!) , graduated in 1995 and has called Raleigh home ever since.

Jen became a mom in 2003, the same year her mother was diagnosed with stage 3-C ovarian cancer.  She had been taking yoga classes here and there, but found refuge and peace in the practice as she juggled taking care of her sick mother and nursing and caring for her newborn daughter.  By 2005, Jen was practicing normally with her second daughter in her belly and was fully in love with yoga.  When her daughters Sofia and Eliana were 3 and 5 years old, she began looking for kids yoga classes for them and came up empty.  So she decided to become a teacher herself.  She is a registered children's yoga teacher (RCYT) and also has created Little Guru Kids Yoga and Creative Arts, bringing yoga and art to the children of Raleigh.

After 5 years of teaching children, In 2010, she began her journey to teach yoga to adults. She completed her 200 hour with a local affiliate of Shiva Rea’s Samudra School and went on to finish up her 500 hour with Shiva, traveling around the country to experience different studios and modules and yogis in the program.

With a degree in hospitality, combining her love of travel, yoga and her knowledge of the industry, Jen began planning and hosting retreats in 2011. She has led over 20 retreats in North Carolina, Mexico, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. Jen’s retreats are always special, not just because of her planning and attention to detail, but because of the amazing souls that end up gathering and bonding over the fact that we are all one.

Jen currently teaches from her home and at Bliss Body Yoga. She also has a You Tube channel with many different offerings.

Jen continues to draw inspiration from her two most inspiring gurus, her daughters Sofia and Eliana.   Life would not be complete without their glowing spirits.
